Job description

For this position of SHEQ Coordinator you will need at least five years of experience within SHE, HSE, or EHS roles. You will use all your experience and knowledge to improve your new employer’s safety culture. In turn, you can expect a salary of up to € 60.000 per year. What will your job entail?
As SHEQ Coordinator, you make sure that the business is compliant with health, safety, and environmental requirements. Your main responsibilities are within the following five components: 

Safety Culture & Engagement 
  • Promoting and strengthening a proactive safety-first culture throughout the organization
  • Coaching, supporting, and advising employees, supervisors, and managers on SHE-related matters
  • Actively engaging with employees on the shop floor to increase safety awareness and ownership
  • Driving behavioural safety initiatives and continuous improvement activities
  • Encouraging employee participation in safety programs, observations, and improvement initiatives
Risk Management 
  • Conducting risk assessments and identifying workplace hazards
  • Proactively identifying areas for safety improvement
  • Developing and monitoring corrective and preventive action plans
  • Supporting operational teams in implementing practical and sustainable safety solutions
Incident Investigation 
  • Leading investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses
  • Conducting Root Cause Analyses (RCA)
  • Ensuring effective implementation and follow-up of corrective actions
  • Communicating lessons learned and share best practices across the organization 
Training & Awareness 
  • Delivering safety training programs and site inductions
  • Facilitating toolbox talks and awareness campaigns
  • Coordinating emergency preparedness exercises and drills
  • Promoting SHE knowledge across all levels of the business
Compliance & Environmental Management 
  • Supporting compliance with relevant Dutch and European SHE legislation
  • Assisting with audits, inspections, and SHE reporting activities
  • Supporting environmental initiatives, including waste management and permitting requirements
  • Monitoring SHE performance indicators and recommend improvement actions

What's in it for you?

Our client is an international manufacturing and technology organization operating a highly automated production facility in the Netherlands. The site plays a key role in supporting customers across Europe and operates within a fast-paced, quality-driven environment. Safety, Health, and Environment are fundamental business priorities. To support continued growth and further strengthen the site's safety culture, the organization is looking for a hands-on SHE Coordinator who can actively engage employees, support operational teams, and drive continuous improvement across safety and environmental performance. This role works closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, HR, and Site Leadership and serves as a key partner in embedding safety into everyday operations.
 
Working hours
In this full-time job your working hours are Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 17.00 hrs.

Requirements

For this position you have to be fluent in English, both written and spoken, because most communication will be in this language. Dutch language skills are considered a strong advantage. 

Your experience includes:
  • Minimum five years of experience within SHE, HSE, or EHS roles 
  • Experience within manufacturing(ideally), production, industrial, logistics, or technical environments
  • Demonstrated experience with: 
    • Risk Assessments (RI&E) 
    • Incident Investigations 
    • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) 
    • Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) 
    • Safety Training and Awareness Programs 
    • SHE Policy and Procedure Implementation

Preferably, you also have
  • Experience within automated manufacturing or intralogistics environments
  • Environmental compliance experience including waste management and permitting
